Delete your Flint account
How to request deletion of your Flint account and its data. Flint is published by OnSpec Software Ltd.
Last updated: 10 July 2026
How to request deletion
Either of these works — both reach the same place:
- In the Flint app: open Account (the person icon, top-right of the Boilers screen) → Delete account → confirm. This opens an email to us, pre-filled with your account address.
- By email: send a request to support@flintfix.com from the email address your account uses (this is how we verify the request is yours).
What happens next
- We confirm the request came from your account's email address.
- Your account and data are deleted, and we reply to confirm — within 30 days, usually much sooner.
- If you have an active Flint Pro subscription, it is cancelled as part of the deletion. Ask us first if you'd like a refund considered under our terms.
What is deleted
Everything we hold about you on our servers is permanently deleted:
| Data | Detail |
|---|---|
| Your account | Email address and password |
| Your profile | Name, Gas Safe number (if you added one), email-preference setting |
| Your subscription record | Plan, status and renewal date held in the app |
Your favourites and notes stay on your phone
Your favourite boilers, notes, saved items and recently-viewed list are stored only on your device — they are never uploaded to us, so there is nothing for us to delete. You control them entirely:
- Remove a favourite by tapping the heart again on the boiler.
- Delete a note by opening it, clearing the text and saving.
- Remove all of it at once by uninstalling Flint, or clearing the app's storage in your phone's settings.
What is kept, and for how long
| Data | Why | Retention |
|---|---|---|
| Payment and invoice records | If you ever paid for Flint Pro, our payment processor (Stripe) and our accounts retain the transaction record. UK company and tax law requires us to keep these; we cannot delete them on request. They are held by Stripe — we never see or store your card details. | 6 years (UK legal requirement) |
| Tips, suggestions and problem reports you submitted | These may already have improved the app's data for other engineers, so the content is kept — but it is permanently unlinked from you at deletion and cannot be traced back to your account. | Anonymised, retained indefinitely |
| Server logs | Standard security and operational logs kept by our hosting provider. | Routinely overwritten; not used to identify you after deletion |
Nothing else about you is retained. We don't sell your data, and we never have.
Deleting only some of your data
You don't have to close your account to remove data:
- Your Gas Safe number: open Account → Gas Safe number, clear it and save — it's removed from your profile.
- Email updates: turn the toggle off in Account → Preferences at any time.
- Anything else (for example a tip or report you sent us): email support@flintfix.com from your account address, telling us what to remove. We'll do it and confirm — within 30 days, and your account stays open.
